"A guitar player goes on the road and he misses his girlfriend for a while but he manages to get along. A horn player gets out on the road, plays two or three towns, and then he will get lonely, and next thing you know, he is packed up and left... it is better not to hire him in the first place."

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE Make NYC Their Sweet Bitch!
Posted on: March 18, 2016 @ 3:13 pm by Jö Schüftan
When I heard that KILLSWITCH ENGAGE was going to play 5 intimate residence type concerts in celebration of the release of their NEW album Incarnate (out NOW via Roadrunner Records) throughout the New York City metropolitan area, I knew that it was going to be something very special and extremely valuable to Heavy Music.

Playing five different set lists, which included one different NEW song each night, KSE brought their ferocious live set and blissfully combined it with their world renown energy!

Completely stepping out of their comfort zone, the band - Jesse Leach, Adam Dutkiewicz, Mike D'Antonio, Justin Foley and Joel Stroetzel - performed at the Gramercy Theatre, Webster Hall, Bowery Ballroom, Saint Vitus Bar and at Rought Trade (a record store that has an awesome stage!

HERE you can see Zulie's STUNNING pictures of KSE's residency!

And not only was each show sold out but I witnessed for the first time in my life plenty of fans getting teary eyed from the amount of emotion that KSE transmits thru their NEW songs from Incarnate! Tears at a Metal show? Yes, manly Metal tears!

Moving forward I wouldn't be surprised if KSE plays more intimate residence type shows or if other bands follow their lead!

Here is an EXCLUSIVE interview we taped with drummer Justin Foley:

And here is a recap of the entire residency:
