METALLICA puts the M in Metal at "The Night Before" Pre-Super Bowl Concert!
Posted on: February 07, 2016 @ 12:09 pm by Jö Schüftan
Yesterday (February 6), Heavy Metal's biggest band in history (METALLICA) took matters into their hands by hosting their very own pre-Super Bowl 50 show/party since the National Football League made it pretty clear that METALLICA is too damn Heavy for the super lame "Pepsi Halftime Show"! Dubbed as em>The Night Before concert (presented by CBS Radio), this massive event, in which more than 40,000 Heavy Music fans were present, took place at the AT&T Park in San Francisco, California.

Even though a petition made it pretty clear that football fans all around the United States of Metal wanted METALLICA (hometown heroes of the San Francisco Bay Area) to play the halftime show, the NFL was only willing to have them on board if they were willing to lip sync their three songs and dilute their "over the top" stage show. This is when METALLICA said "f&8k you" and reached out to their friends from the San Francisco Giants organization and pitched them the idea of throwing a massive concert the night before Super Bowl 50 (featuring the Denver Broncos and the Carolina Panthers)!

In what was a full blown two and a half hour concert, METALLICA's James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo brought their A game not only to the sold out crowd but to tens of thousands of eye balls that truly enjoyed an extremely well produced FREE webcast! After warming the crowd up with "Creeping Death" and "From Whom the Bell Tolls", the band fired up the crowd (literally via pyro) with "Fuel"! Then they played tons of hits such as "Ride the Lighting", "The Unforgiven", "One", "Master of Puppets", "Seek & "Destroy" and so on and so forth...

Here is the band's complete set list:

1) Creeping Death
2) For Whom the Bell Tolls
3) Fuel
4) King Nothing
5) Ride the Lightning (with "Bleeding Me" riff and Kirk doodle)
6) The Unforgiven
7) The Memory Remains
8) Welcome Home (Sanitarium)
9) Sad But True (with Rob solo)
10) Wherever I May Roam
11) One
12) Master of Puppets
13) Battery (with NEW song jam and Kirk solo)
14) Fade to Black
15) Seek & Destroy

Encore:

16) Whiskey in the Jar (dedicated to Cliff Burton)
17) Nothing Else Matters
18) Enter Sandman
