From the moment I fired up my stereo to listen to CAVALERA CONSPIRACY's NEW album Pandemonium (available now via Napalm Records), the band's third studio album violently woke all of my senses up. After shutting the world so that I could listen attentively to yet another crushing batch of songs created by the Cavalera brothers and Marc Rizzo, my emotions felt extremely compelled to every single sound I heard. To say that my soul and ears wanted more is an absolute understatement!

When it comes to creating classic yet modern Heavy Metal albums, Max Cavalera is pretty damn untouchable. And I love the fact that this time around he pushed his brother Iggor to return to their musical roots of playing faster and louder! And when when it comes to fitting in crushing riffs in harmony with dirty vocals, grooving drums, and hard hitting bass parts, Marc Rizzo has the perfect formula down to a science.

From the first note of the opening track "Babylonian Pandemonium" you know its a CAVALERA CONSPIRACY record, but the band definitely manages to not sound outdated. You know how many bands have a signature sound and when you hear NEW material it sounds expired? Well, CAVALERA CONSPIRACY managed to keep their signature sound intact and fresh. This ladies and gentleman, is really hard to do.

One move that has proven to be lethal in CAVALERA CONSPIRACY's evolution is Max's recent work with SOULFLY and KILLER BE KILLED. While Max always brings in his unique sound, the fact that he has worked with different musicians and within different styles, benefits what he creates after 30 years of kicking ass and never kissing ass!

While I could give you a track by track summary and tell you which tracks stand out, I rather you listen to the entire record with your own ears so you can make your own judgement. But trust me, this is the type of album that any headbanger who might be losing faith in Heavy Music should buy (not steal) and play it loud and proud!
