You may be sitting there thinking that how can a book get a 10/10 rating when literature (just like music) is extremely personal and imperfect. The thing is that Scott Ian's NEW autobiography I'm the Man: The Story of That Guy from Anthrax (available now via Da Capo Press) is one of the best books you will ever read! It's honest, it's entertaining and full of stories of one of the guys to blame for Heavy Music being what it is today.

Not only does Scott write in detail about the birth, the rise to fame, and the near death of ANTHRAX, but he also shares extremely personal stories about growing up in Queens, New York and how music became his escape from the hardships that he faced at home. The best thing about the book is that Scott is painfully honest and didn't hold back when it came to sharing both his best memories thus far (like the birth of his son) along with some very painful memories like the passing of METALLICA's Cliff Burton and PANTERA's "Dimebag" Darrell Abott.

He also wrote in-depth about ANTHRAX's multiple lineup changes and how various record labels dropped the ball when it came to helping the band reach NEW levels of confidence and power. Once you read the book, you will understand that if it wasn't for Scott's extreme work ethic and devotion for Heavy Music, ANTHRAX wouldn't be around anymore.

And yes, Scott shares his memories of playing Yankee Stadium in September of 2011 as part of the Big 4 and even shared a story regarding the Yankees in which he ended up getting arrested!

Whither you are a veteran musician or you are just starting out, this is a book you must read and absorb as the amount of knowledge and lessons of perseverance that Scott shares will make you a better musician. Hell, this book will inspire any human being to have big goals and to never stop working in order to accomplish those goals.

If this book would be turned into a film, an option that Scott is willing to explore, it would be a very entertaining movie as the way the book is written in a very visual form.
